It's pretty much as the title says: the upcoming Berserk anime project that has fans in such a tizzy will be 3 films, which will cover the "Golden Age" arc of the manga.
You're welcome.
Can anyone who's actually read Berserk help me out here with info on why that arc's interesting?

The American Library Association has been announcing their nominees for the 2012 Great Graphic Novels for Teens. The manga choices recently have been...odd, but a few more have been added:
Usamaru Furuya's Genkaku Picasso. Description from ANN: "After loner Hikaru survives a deadly accident, he is cursed with the ability to either use his amazing artistic powers to help his classmates with their problems...or die." MWAhahahahahahaha!
Kaoru Mori's A Bride's Story. "Amir's arranged marriage with Karluk is threatened when her family decides they want her back for a more advantageous match." Ooooh, romantic drama!
Yoshinori Natsume's Kurozakuro. "After spending his life the target of every bully in his school, Mikito gets the power to fight back from a magical demon ogre. But Mikito's power comes with a steep price." Doesn't it always?
Takako Shimura's Wandering Son. Adapted into an anime last season, this is a "Gentle, coming-of-age story about a boy who wants to be a girl and girl who wants to be boy." Kind of.

A classic is coming to America: the first season of the 1971 Lupin III TV series has been licensed by Discotek, which'll release the whole thing on DVD in America next spring. This is the series that Hayao Miyazaki helmed; in fact, he directed over half of this season's episodes.
It's cheesy, it's over-the-top, it has ridiculously cheap animation. And it's Lupin.

Enjoy the goofy action anime series Dog Days? Want to own it on Blu-Ray? Don't want to wait for it to be licensed internationally?
Good news! The Japanese release will have English, French, and Chinese subs on it!
You'll just have to pay Japanese prices: US $91 for the first disc, which will contain the first 3 episodes.
Want it on DVD? No luck there; no subs on that one. Why? Who knows?

Four minors--all male--have been arrested in Japan for illegally archiving episodes of anime and tokusatsu shows. They're charged because they hosted 3 episodes each. Just 3. (They may have hosted more, but they're only being charged for 3.)
Apparently, they archived these episodes online for others to watch. It's not clear that this was even a public archive.
