Why I read Cutfilm Tovent

with one comment

I’m pleased to say that I’m partly responsible for the creation of Cutfilm Tovent.

To my delight, the site quickly developed into a series of thoughtful, personal essays on anime and manga. Moreover, his taste is refreshingly eclectic. He doesn’t focus exclusively on the latest shows or a few of his pet topics. He will spend a lot of words on a specific title that warrants it, as in his posts “Eden: It’s an Endless World — vol. 1” and ”worlds collide #2.”

The author posts irregularly, 5 or 6 posts a month in bursts. Almost every one is interesting and clearly results from a lot of thought. Cutfilm Tovent is the opposite end of the spectrum from a blog like Ogiue Maniax and its daily updates, and that’s good. We need both sides.
